I met Adrian and Barbara at the start of the 2010 Peking to Paris rally in China, Mark and I were fellow rally novices in another Ford Model A  so we hit it off straight away. We had many adventures together on that trip and Adrian was always there to lend a hand or give advice, they broke their gearbox in Mongolia and we were very sad to not see then that night and assumed we would not se them again on the rally. Adrian of course had other ideas and after several days on a truck and having flown out the spares they turned up a few days later in Almaty. 

We travelled together for a further 10,000 miles around South America and to Japan and Bhutan and attempted to drive over the Himalayas two years ago. When we broke down on that trip, Adrian and Barbara stayed with us and escorted us on a 2000 ft freewheel down the mountain in the dark and then towed us for an hour to the hotel - A true act of selfless friendship and typical of Adrian.

As many people have said on these pages, he really was a one off and will be missed by many fellow rallyists and it seems by lots of train nutters as well.
